long hiatus

blogging requires motivation to write. i have been lacking this in this strange transition that i've been going through. i've uprooted my life from the quiet and solitude of new england and moved into the maelstrom of new york city. i now live in manhattan. i'm letting this sink in and settle.

for those who are still checking this website and wondering where the heck i've gone, thanks for sticking around.

a question to ponder in light of sarah palin's emergence into the spotlight...
is the term "conservative feminism" an oxymoron?

Yes, the term "conservative feminism" is an oxymoron.

I don't really think of Sarah Palin as a conservative and certainly not as a feminist. I see her more as a theocrat who believes that Jesus will be returning soon, "in MY lifetime".

That makes be more afraid even than of Bush. At least Bush had Rove and Cheney pulling his puppet strings (both of whom are evil but not insane). Who is pulling Palin's?

Welcome back.

I came across another post that even more clearly shows that Sarah Palin is no feminist.

Apparently the police chief that Palin appointed when she was mayor required victims of rape to pay for their own rape investigation kits.

As the blogger points out, "you can't make this stuff up".

A feminist requiring a victim of rape to pay for her own investigation?
