coffee break

i think coffee breaks are essential to sanity. we run ourselves ragged virtually every day. sometimes, we just need to stop, put our feet up and have a hot cup of coffee.
to what do i owe this luxury? well, both my attendings started their afternoon evals before i got back from noon conference.
i've already had one cup this morning, but there's no such thing as too much coffee.

Coffee is an acquired taste. I never acquired it. But after twenty years of a half gallon of Mt. Dew a day, i developed arthritis, bursitis, etc., related to caffeine. I expect it is a big contributor to osteoporosis.

I don't expect to convert anyone else to go 'cold turkey' on caffeine. I'm just in a contrary mood, and absolutes like 'no such thing' irritate.

At least coffee is low in calories, unlike Mt. Dew. I was fortunate to gain so little over the years. I lost 35 pounds (16 kg) in the first year after giving it up.
