little miss sunshine

if anyone is in need of a good laugh, i recommend little miss sunshine . it's dark in parts, but i like that sort of thing. my friend who always falls asleep in movies, no matter how interesting they are, didn't fall asleep in this one because she kept laughing. you'll find yourself thinking, 'how can i be laughing at this?' but you'll laugh nonetheless.
isn't laughter the best medicine?

when i watched it i cried as much as i laughed. once i even cried and laughed simultaneously (but i think something wierd is going on and i way over-identified with the characters). it's an excellent film though...probably the best i've seen in a while.

I have a colleague who has a phd in French and can't find an academic position (thus she helps run a tutoring company). I told her she may or may not want to see "Little Miss Sunshine" for it's semi-accurate portrayal of Proust scholars.

Loved, loved, loved that movie. It was so good. I think we laugh at that kind of stuff because we are all about three and a half seconds from being there ourselves.

It's not often that a movie surprises me; but I didn't see the nature of the girl's performance coming. I loved the movie, too
